transfer window opens soon

Dear Dream Teamer,Happy new year! We are half way through the season and both the title race and Dream Team are hotting up. Don't worry if you are not fairing too well at this stage because the Dream Team transfer window opens on January 29. So if you want to bring in on form Drogba or drop out the disappointing Shevchenko this is the time to do it and climb the season table.

Ronaldo doubles eclipse Drogba
DEFOE... 105 points.
DIDIER DROGBA and Cristiano Ronaldo had a December to remember as Dream Team finished on a high in 2006.Chelsea ace Drogba picked up 57 points last month but the in-form striker's impressive haul was eclipsed by Ronaldo. The Manchester United winger notched 78 points as Sir Alex Ferguson's men set the pace at the top of the Premiership.Ronaldo netted doubles against Aston Villa, Wigan and Reading to keep United ahead of Jose Mourinho's champions. But the Portuguese star was not the only player to make the headlines during the festive period.Jermain Defoe grabbed 55 points to show Tottenham boss Martin Jol he is worth a regular place in the starting line-up.And the England international was closely followed by fellow striker Dimitar Berbatov, who walked away with 43 points after a string of fine displays for Spurs.

Can Drogba hang on?
HENRY... Back to his best? THE business end of the season is in full swing and the race to be crowned Dream Team king is likely to be a close affair.Thierry Henry finished as the top points scorer last term but the Arsenal ace has some catching up to do if he is to repeat the feat.Henry made a goal scoring return to action after a lengthy spell on the sidelines as the Gunners started the New Year by thumping Charlton 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium.A calmly converted penalty put the Frenchman back among the points and he will have to stay on the goal trail to catch the top performers in the world's No1 fantasy football game.Didier Drogba drew a blank against Aston Villa but the Ivory Coast striker has been the key to Chelsea's title bid.The Blues will need plenty of all-action displays to pip Manchester United to the championship and the safe money is currently on Drogba to claim Henry's crown.Drogba's main threat to the throne is flying winger Cristiano Winger. United's main man has cleaned up his act and the Portugal international is in outstanding form after winning over his critics.
